Ian Juby

Music leadership

A well-known musical leader in the Kingston area, EVE is very glad to welcome Ian aboard!  Ian has been with the Kingston Choral Society for over 15 years, first as Chorus Master and now as Artistic Director.  He began singing lessons with Marie Moir at an early age, and as an adult studied voice at Western University.  While there, he was a member of the Faculty of Music Singers and the newly formed Opera Workshop.  Ian studied conducting at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey, and also under numerous other conductors including Wayne Strongman and Wayne Riddell.  In Kingston, Ian was music director for the annual Kinsmen musicals at the Grand Theatre, is the founding Artistic Director of the Kingston Capital Men’s Chorus, leads the Limestone Chorale, and marks his fourth year as a conductor with the North Lakeshore Chorus.
Ian retired recently following a 30-year career teaching music and grooming award-winning choirs, bands and musicals in high schools from Picton to Kingston.
He maintains an active voice studio in Kingston.
